The Groovy Clean Campaign Campaign
Campaign signs belong in the right place — not the right-of-way.
Groovy 105.7 believes elections should be loud, spirited, and local.
But campaign signs should still follow the rules.
The City of Tulsa allows campaign signs on private property with the property owner’s permission. But signs are not supposed to be placed in public rights-of-way, medians, intersections, public property, or places where they can create clutter or safety concerns.
That is why Groovy 105.7 is launching The Groovy Clean Campaign Campaign.
Yes, the name is awkward.
That is also part of the campaign.
What Groovy is doing
Groovy 105.7 is documenting campaign signs around Tulsa that appear to be placed where Tulsa rules do not allow them.
We are not picking sides.
We are not endorsing or opposing any candidate.
We are applying the same standard to every campaign, every party, and every race.
When we identify signs that appear to be in the public right-of-way, Groovy may contact the campaign and ask:
- Were you aware these signs were there?
- Did your campaign place them, or could they have been placed by volunteers or supporters?
- What instructions do you give staff and volunteers about sign placement?
- When will the signs be removed or relocated?
- Should voters consider whether campaigns follow existing laws?
- Would you like Groovy to help remove the signs and return them to your campaign?
How you can help
See a campaign sign that appears to be in the public right-of-way?
- Take a photo safely.
- Do not stop in traffic.
- Do not block a lane.
- Do not put yourself in danger.
- Do not trespass on private property.
Then either:
Post the photo on Facebook and tag Groovy1057
or call the Groovy line:
918-679-1057
Please include the nearest intersection or address if you can.
What campaigns should know
Groovy is giving campaigns the opportunity to respond.
If signs supporting your campaign are identified in apparent right-of-way locations, we want to know:
- Did your campaign place them?
- Are volunteers being instructed properly?
- When will the signs be removed?
- Are you willing to accept help removing and returning signs?
This is not about left or right.
It is about right-of-way.
Why it matters
Campaign signs in the wrong place can clutter streets, block sight lines, distract drivers, and create problems for pedestrians, businesses, and neighborhoods.
Tulsa looks better when campaigns follow the rules.
Tulsa is safer when signs are placed where they belong.
And voters deserve to know whether campaigns asking for public trust are also respecting existing laws during the campaign.

Keeping Tulsa clean, one sign at a time.
